For Your Rotation (April 17, 2025)
Culture of the Day joins us for another week and their 4th SIL U exclusive curation...THEY. DONT. MISS. Make sure you check out the Spotify playlist as well!
And we’re back to it with another addition into the ‘For Your Rotation” series. Hopefully you all have been enjoying it so far. I hope to always provide you with some good quality recommendations!
I try to have a balance of different things to listen to (depending on what happens during that week of course lol). Keeping a diverse rotation can keep your musical ear fresh, as well as show you someone else's perspective on art. I enjoy being in my own musical bubble during my days, however I do enjoy checking out what everyone else is tuning into!
Continue to surround yourself with the art that speaks to you, but never be afraid to try something new.
Here are 10 songs I have been listening to lately that I think you might enjoy!
For Your Rotation! (Apr. 17, 2025)
TRIBEZ. & Juju Rogers - Perfect Love
Released in 2023, TRIBEZ. is a band I am glad came across my radar. They make a mixture of Jazz and Hip-Hop, which is right up my alley when it comes to my daily listens. This song is so smooth, and with great vocals from Juju Rogers, it is an ear catching blend! I find myself with the chorus stuck in my head at random times. This song is from their 2023 album Redbird (and this album is well worth the listen).
Bluestaeb, S. Fidelity, & PHABO - THAT’S OK
Released in 2021, Bluestaeb had me in a choke hold with this release. A friend showed me this song, and I was absolutely hooked with this song and album! Bluestaeb and S. Fidelity’s production mixed with PHABO’s vocals is very addicting, and I still hit repeat when this song pops up in my playlists! This song is from his 2021 album GISEKE (one of my favorite projects that year).
Producers - Bluestaeb, & S. Fidelity
Sylvan LaCue - Guilt Trip
Released in 2017, This song had me hooked all that year. Sylvan LaCue has always laid out his vulnerabilities, and that is something that gravitated me toward his music years ago. Everytime this song comes on, I am reminded of my own life and work that needs to be done for myself. This is an absolute gem right here. This song is from his 2018 album Apologies in Advance.
Producer - Sylvan LaCue
Wakai - 22s
Released in 2025, Wakai has become an artist I love hearing from! His style has captivated me with a mixture of so many different influences, and this song is a perfect balance of that. The way the intro starts, the flow, the melodies, and bars present a perfect package. If you have not heard from Wakai yet, then you have to check this song out!
Producers - Seph Pablo, & JustinWyattMusic
Al-Doms - GLASS HEART
Released in 2022, this is a solid track from Al-Doms. I really loved the production mixed with the melodic chorus (which I found myself singing in my head for days after hearing it). Also packed with substantive lyrics, this is just an overall mellow track that can be played in your down time. This song is from his 2022 album PRESCRIBED OVERDOSE.
Producers - MYFRIENDMEESHA, Derek Rusinek, & bennygotbass
Vince Staples - MHM
Released in 2021, this song is just another reason why Vince Staples is in a lane of his own. This song is so catchy, you’ll catch yourself singing the chorus! Vince Staples has never cared about being the “best”, and that works to his advantage in many ways. This song is from his 2021 self-titled album Vince Staples.
Producers - Kenny Beats, & Nils
Kent Jamz - In Search Of
Originally Released in 2020, I had this song on repeat constantly in 2020! Kent Jamz has always offered solid vocals, and his production choices are never lacking. All you need to do is hear this song, and you’ll understand how solid this track is. This song is from his 2020 collab album with Buddy called Janktape Vol. 1, and is part of his 2022 album Fanclub.
Producer - Ricci Riera
ELHAE - More
Released in 2024, ELHAE has been an artist I have been really enjoying over the past 3 years. His vocals caught me, and I feel like his lane of R&B really compliments him! If you like the modern day sound of R&B, then this song is one you should check out!
Producer - OG Parker
Langston Bristol - get 2 it
Released in 2025, is another addition to the solid releases Langston Bristol has put out lately. I have been a fan for 5 years, and I can say that he hasn’t missed! I love that he produces the majority of his own songs, and that compliments his rap style completely. If you want a song from someone who puts in work, this is for you!
Producer - Langston Bristol
Westside Gunn & Stove God Cooks - Derrick Boleman
Released in 2022, this was one of my favorite releases that year. I had this song on repeat so many times, I still repeat it to this day! The way Westside Gunn crafts his projects feels like art, and his feature choices with producer choices craft the tone for this entire album. If you love great production with bars, this is a MUST LISTEN. This song is from his 2022 album Peace “Fly” God.
Producer - Madlib
