London doesn’t owe us a thing.

We originally set out to attend the inaugural SXSW London to do press coverage for Such Is Life University. As it goes, things don’t always unfold the way you plan, and sometimes that ends up being exactly what you needed.

If you told us it was going to go how it went, we wouldn’t have believed you.

Along the way, we met so many incredible people. We connected with creatives from the States, local go-getters and crossed paths with the founders of Bohemia Records, the first Saudi record label dedicated to independent artists. Mansour and his team are doing it right. They even invited us to a private event showcasing Saudi Hip Hop and R&B artists, which opened our eyes to a whole new creative ecosystem. Safe to say, we may need to drop into Riyadh ASAP.

Since we were already planning on being out there, we decided to book a show. Our dear friend, the GOAT, Jim Sharp made it happen, and we found ourselves performing at the legendary Chip Shop in Brixton. A true rite of passage for hip hop and soul artists. That night gave us a real glimpse into what community looks like on another level. Brixton is so culturally rich, deeply vibrant, and alive in a way that can only be felt once you are there. We cannot wait to return and truly explore and connect with the people.

We also heard the best Caribbean food in the area is there, so you already know we are spinning the block IMMEDIATELY.

We spent time in Shoreditch, where SXSW was centered and completely overloaded our senses in a melting pot of art and culture we did not expect.

By day three of the trip, you could not tell any of us we were not locals.

The London community embraced us like family. Even our AirBnB neighbors went out of their way to welcome us, to the point where we were invited to his brother’s birthday party. It is rare to feel that level of familiarity in a place you have never been but London did exactly that. It now holds a very special place in our hearts and we’re already counting down the days until we’re back home.

This stop on the journey reinforced everything Proof of Concept stands for. With community and audacity, everything is possible. What began as an idea continues to reveal itself through the people, the moments, and the unexpected turns along the way.

As many of you know, in early 2025 the SIL U team took on a massive feat. We strung together a mini tour across Europe.

The Proof of Concept movement was created to serve as a real blueprint for independent artists and creatives alike.

As independents, this kind of move can feel unattainable. We were told for years that you have to hit certain milestones before you are “allowed” to even have a successful show.

We defied that narrative and made it happen.

Along the way, we learned more than we could have imagined. The biggest lesson of all was this: with community and AUDACITY, anything is possible.

Our community did not just support this journey. We built new communities around the world that reminded us the vision was real, achievable, and worth protecting.

Proof of Concept is more than a moment. It is a movement that is here to stay and will continue to grow with your support and our vision.

Over the next few weeks, we are giving you a BTS look at “Act 1: Europe”.

We’re going to take you through our journey along the way starting with London.

It’s already the end of October, and it feels like the month just started! Honestly, this has probably been one of the longest and fastest months this year. We’re getting closer toward the end of the year, which means everything is going to go by faster with the holiday season here. Which means it is getting closer to seeing everyone’s Top lists for the year! It’s time to start thinking about what we’ve all been listening to this year and seeing where our music tastes have been.

This week’s list is a mix of songs that have encapsulated multiple vibes I have had for the past couple weeks, which means my life has been everywhere (in a good way tho). I hope that y’all enjoy this week’s list!

For Your Rotation! (October 30, 2025)

1. Earl Hondo - dolo

   • Released in 2025, this song has been on repeat since it came out. It has everything I want here, which is great production, great flows, and bars! Earl Hondo is an artist that came across my radar in 2024, and I am always interested to hear what he’s got cooking up. I’m excited to hear what he’s gonna do on a future full length project! If you want a song that can bump, this one is for you!

2. Latrell James - Help

   • Released in 2020, Latrell James has songs that randomly pop up that get multiple plays, and this is one of them! His lyrics always hit when I hear him, and his work as a producer is elite. He offers the perfect balance of what I want to hear, and I really appreciate what he does with his artistry. If you want a good introduction to Latrell James, this is a song I would recommend! This song is from his 2020 EP Under.

3. BROCKHAMPTON - RENTAL

   • Released in 2017, this was one of my favorite songs that year, and is one I still find myself coming back to almost 10 years later! The production had me hooked within the first 15 seconds, and the hook still gets stuck in my head. The vulnerable lyrics are always present within BROCKHAMPTON’s music as a collective, so I really love that. If you want a great song to chill to with substantive lyrics, this is for you! This song is from their 2017 album SATURATION III.

4. MFnMelo - Bankroll

   • Released in 2024, MFnMelo is an artist I absolutely love hearing from, and look forward to whenever he releases! I first heard him in 2017 from a feature he had with Pivot Gang member Saba, and I have been hooked ever since. Every member of Pivot Gang has their own sound, and MFnMelo does an amazing job at displaying his own creativity within the group and as a solo act!

5. Grace Sorensen - CAN’T KISS AND FORGET

   • Released in 2025, Grace Sorensen came across my radar in 2024, and I have been impressed with what I have heard from her. Her voice is very refreshing to hear, and I really love her attention to detail within her production choices! You can tell she has many different influences when it comes to her style, and I think that it blends together greatly. If this is your first time hearing Grace Sorensen, this song is a great introduction! This song is from her 2025 album BLUEPRINT.

6. Bas & The Hics - Four Walls

   • Released in 2025, Whenever I see Bas and The Hics release music together, I have to check it out immediately! Bas’s style mixed with the talent and style of The Hics makes a combination I didn’t know I needed when I first heard them. Based on all of these previous collaborations together, I already knew I would love this song and album from all three of them! If you haven’t heard this, you need to check it out! This song is from their 2025 album Melanchronica.

7. ScHoolboy Q - Blueslides

   • Released in 2024, ScHoolboy Q is one of my favorite artists, and this song proves why. ScHoolboy Q is no slouch on the mic, and his lyricism needs more attention. This song is one of his most introspective and vulnerable songs, and proves that he is an artist with multiple different pockets. As one of my favorite songs from 2024, I fully recommend this song if you want substance and topics to think about when it comes to life. This song is from his 2024 album BLUE LIPS.

8. BARii - Barbershop

   • Released in 2024, this song came across my radar in 2024, and I think this is one of the most underrated finds that year. I really love how simple the topic of the song is, but a feeling everyone has had once they get that hair cut. I also really loved his ability to tie that in with relationship topics, which makes it even more relatable. His voice and the production match really well together, which makes this an enjoyable listen many times over!

9. Sunni Colón - UNIVERSE 4 TWO

   • Released in 2022, Sunni Colón has been an artist I have been a fan of since 2018, so he has multiple songs that get stuck in my head at random times. His style blends so many different elements together in a way that is unique to him, and that is a major win in my book! I can truly say, I never get tired of hearing his music, and I never get tired of coming back to future classics like this one. This song is from his 2022 album JúJú & The Flowerbug.

     • Producer - Sunni Colón

10. Britton Rauscher & 350 - ELIJAH WOOD

    • Released in 2024, this song is one that I find myself coming back to more at random points. I liked it when I first heard it in 2024, but I find myself loving it even more as time has gone on! Britton Rauscher has pockets within his songs that fit perfectly with his flows and bars, and I feel this song is a great showcase of that ability. He makes it sound so effortlessly, which is why I recommend this if you want clean flows, bars, and great production! This song is from Britton Rauscher’s 2024 album DIRT CHEAP.

For Your Rotation Playlist (Oct 30th, 2026)

Here with another entry into the “For Your Rotation” series!

I had a different list drafted for the entry this week, but I decided to go in a different direction. I wanted to make a rotation list of R&B and Neo-Soul as a dedication to D’Angelo. These have been genres that have been part of me my entire life, along with Hip-Hop. D’Angelo was the first person I heard when it came to Neo-Soul as a child, and I have been captivated ever since.

This week’s list is a dedication to him, and to showcase artists who have built and are continuing to build R&B and Neo-Soul. I included a mix of newer artists along with some of the Legends of these genres that have made some of my favorites. I hope this list will be able to show that these genres are still thriving and will be left in good hands.

   • Released in 2000, this song is one of my personal favorite songs from D’Angelo, and one that I feel needs spotlight from his catalog. D’Angelo’s talent is one that can not be replicated, and he was truly one of a kind. This man has captured the ears of millions for over 30 years, and will continue to do so in generations to come. He is the reason why I have a deep appreciation for R&B and Neo-Soul, and his music will live forever on. This song is from his 2000 album Voodoo. Fly High D’Angelo.

2. Ari Lennox - Waste My Time

   • Released in 2022, Ari Lennox has been one of my personal favorites for about 10 years now, and I do not see that changing at all! Her voice is unmistakable, captivating, and one of a kind. Any time I see that she releases music, I have to stop and listen ASAP! If you want an artist with an amazing voice, amazing production, and great lyrics, then Ari Lennox is for you! This song is from her 2022 album age/sex/location.

3. Erykah Badu - On & On

   • Released in 1996, Erykah Badu is a Legend when it comes to R&B, Neo-Soul, and Hip-Hop, and that is not up for debate. Her music is timeless, and continues to captivate people’s ears many years later. Erykah Badu’s talent speaks for itself and showcases many things words can not do justice to explain. No one can replicate the music and the sounds she has created, and her music is one of the greatest gifts. This song is from her 1997 album Baduizm.

4. Sebastian Mikael & Joanna Teters - Security Code

   • Released in 2022, Sebastian Mikael is someone I feel everyone should know, and someone who has not missed with a single release! He is a voice I have been obsessed with for 5 years now, and I proudly say I am a fan. From my first listen back then, I already knew that Sebastian Mikael was going to become one of my personal favorite artists. If you haven’t heard of him, then you absolutely need to! This song is from Sebastian Mikael’s 2022 EP PHILEO.

5. Xavier Omär - State Of The Will

   • Released in 2025, Xavier Omär is one of my favorite voices in R&B, and an artist that will become a household name in music. I have been a fan of his since 2017, and is an artist I make a point to check out whenever he releases music! If you want a newer R&B artist with many aspects and influences of older R&B, Xavier Omär is definitely for you! This song is from his 2025 album HunnyMoon Mountain.

6. Flwr Chyld & Nai Br.XX - Feel The Breeze

   • Released in 2019, Flwr Chyld’s production is unmatched in my eyes, and he gives me what I want when it comes to R&B and Neo-Soul. I have been a fan since 2019, and this song is a great example of why. Nai Br.XX’s vocals match perfectly with his production, which showcases how he picks the artists for his songs carefully! Give this a listen if you want amazing production from Flwr Chyld and amazing vocals from Nai Br.XX! This song is from Flwr Chyld’s 2019 album Iridescent Luv.

7. Jill Scott - It’s Love

   • Released in 2000, Jill Scott is an absolute Legend in R&B and Neo-Soul, and has caught the ears of millions. This song is one of my personal favorites from Jill Scott, and that is a hard pick given her amazing discography! No matter what mood I’m in, Jill Scott’s music hits, and not many artists can do that. Jill Scott is truly one of a kind and one that no one can recreate. This song is from her 2000 album Who Is Jill Scott? - Words and Sounds, Vol. 1.

8. The Internet - Under Control

   • Released in 2015, I have been a fan of The Internet since 2013, and I feel they’re music is a great nod to classic R&B and Neo-Soul. I have had this album in my rotations for 10 years, and it is still one that I love coming back to! This song is one of my favorites from them, and one that I feel showcases they’re love and talents for both R&B and Neo-Soul perfectly. If you want a group that makes great music in these genres, The Internet is for you! This song is from their 2015 album Ego Death.

9. SiR - That’s Alright

   • Released in 2018, SiR has been someone I have really loved hearing from, and someone I feel gets even better with every release! He truly stays in his own lane within R&B, and that is something I have a large appreciation for. The way he blends both R&B and Hip-Hop elements feels natural and refreshing when it comes to his sounds. SiR is someone who will become a future Legend within this genre for sure! This song is from his 2018 album November.

10. Grimm Lynn - Can’t Swim

    • Released in 2022, this is one of the first songs I heard from Grimm Lynn, and I knew from then I would be a fan of his artistry. He blends so many different elements of different genres, and it works in ways I never thought! As I hear more from him over time, the more I hear growth within his craft. I can see Grimm Lynn becoming a solid name within R&B and Neo-Soul as time goes on! This song is from his 2022 EP Sweet Heat.

Returning with another entry into the “For Your Rotation” series!

I had to take a break from making this series due to some personal obligations that I had to tend to, but hopefully I’m back on the regular schedule! Life is crazy at times, but do find myself at peace when I make these lists. Making this series allows me to revisit a lot of songs that pop up, and it lets me remember times where life was simple. Memories can bring many feelings back, good or bad, but reflection is always needed. Some of these songs are some I used to play a lot over the years, and I hope that you enjoy them here in his list!

   • Released in 2025, this song is one I find myself repeating multiple times, and stuck in my head hours after listening to it. The production is amazing, flows are on point, and the vibe is fully here! Recoechi has been consistent this year in dropping solid singles, and a really solid project! This song is from Recoechi’s 2025 album FLAVAZ, and served as a single to the album.

2. Gareth Donkin - Till The End of Time (Night Sky)

   • Released in 2023, Gareth Donkin is an artist I absolutely love hearing from whenever he releases music. His music is full of soul, and you can tell this is his passion. He had one of my favorite projects that year, and this is one that I still love coming back to whenever it pops up. If you haven’t heard of Gareth Donkin, this song is a great introduction! This song is from his 2023 album Welcome Home (which is an absolute must recommendation from me).

3. Malik Elijah - WHENITSTIME

   • Released in 2022, this song is part of the album that was my first introduction to Malik Elijah. Songs like this reassure me that there are plenty of artists still making music that resonate with fans, and with themselves! If you are interested in Malik Elijah’s discography, this is a great introduction for you. This song is from his 2022 album DETOUR (which you need to check out if you haven’t).

4. Nate Curry - Too Many Chefs

   • Released in 2025, Nate Curry came across my radar earlier this year, and this song is one that I find myself coming back to at random times. This song is a perfect track to throw on for a drive, cleaning, or whatever mood you feel you need to relax and vibe out! From this song, I am going to keep my eye on Nate Curry and I am excited to see what he does going forward.

5. Alé Araya & greek - Endless Sky

   • Released in 2023, Alé Araya had one of my favorite EPs that year, and this song is an amazing example of why. From the first listen, you can tell that she puts a great deal of work and detail into her art, and that is what keeps me coming back. Whenever this song comes on, I have to play it repeatedly! This song is from Alé Araya’s 2023 EP in visions (which is a definite recommendation from me).

6. Jae Skeese, Big K.R.I.T., & Sauce Walka - Situated

   • Released in 2024, this song is my first introduction to Jae Skeese, and this song is a great introduction! The flows and bars showcase his talent immediately, so I was hooked from the first listen. The album this is from is also a great listen, so Jae Skeese is putting together solid bodies of work. If you want dope bars, clean flows, and great production, this song is for you. This song is from Jae Skeese’s 2024 album Ground Level.

7. Dreamville (J. Cole) - Folgers Crystals

   • Released in 2015, this song was one of my favorites that year, and one I still love coming back to 10 years later! J. Cole needs no introduction, and his discography and skills speak for themselves. One thing I love about J. Cole’s music on a personal level is that I can hear a track from him, and know instantly which point of my life I was in at that time. This song brings back good memories whenever I hear it! This song is from their 2015 album Revenge Of The Dreamers II.

8. Shane Eagle & Caleborate - Round Here

   • Released in 2019, I heard this song in 2020, and I was instantly hooked! I had Shane Eagle on repeat that entire year, and this song is one I would show to someone as an introduction. The production, vibe, and flows kept me coming back, and still keeps my attention when it comes on in my playlists. If you want to check out Shane Eagles discography, this song is a great introduction to it! This song is from Shane Eagle’s 2019 album Dark Moon Flower.

9. OSHUN - Techs

   • Released in 2022, this song had me in a choke hold in 2022, and I still get goosebumps when it comes on to this day! Their album that year was one of my personal favorites, and I still have that opinion currently. Even though the members (Niambi and thandiwe) are not making music as a group anymore, they both individually have amazing talent! This song is from their 2022 album vol. ii (which you need to listen to if you haven’t).

10. Blended Babies, Anderson .Paak, Asher Roth, & Nico Segal (Donnie Trumpet) - Make It Work

    • Released in 2015, this song has everything I wanted in one song, and 10 years later the song is still amazing! Whenever I hear this, it reminds me of a much simpler time in my life, and can get me out of a bad mood. You definitely need to check this song out if you haven’t, this will probably make it to your regular rotation! This song is from Blended Babies EP The Anderson .Paak EP.

      • Producers - Blended Babies, & Ramii

His collection was so eclectic, spanning across many genres and time periods. I look back and realize that being exposed to all those different sounds at such a young age was truly a blessing. All of that influence kept me open minded in how I approach producing music to this day.

It’s hard to comprehend that the only way we were to be able to enjoy music was by going straight to the source and listening to musicians and performers play in a live setting however, once the audio recording process was invented, you could replay music anywhere and listen to it anytime.

The playing field was transformed even more headphones were introduced. We were now able to plug in and be completely immersed into the sounds. Quite naturally, this led to a deeper connection to music and the artists creating it making us attach to an artist deeper than ever before.

Once the auditory experience became mobile, you were able to have a personal soundtrack to your life while you’re doing all your daily activities. Everything is now real life movie montage scenes of being in your thoughts coupled with a musical backing.

When I was in 3rd grade, I was gifted a portable cassette player and I discovered “The Beatles: Greatest Hits” collection of about 10 tapes. That experience singlehandedly changed everything for me. Before then, music was always played out loud and typically limited to social settings but now that I had headphones I could be immersed in the music no matter where I was or who was around. And I did just that.

I would get consistent taps on the shoulder followed by a:

The obvious answer always being… No! of course I didn’t. My existence was off into a musical journey far from where I physically was.

Totally consumed by sound waves of amazing vocal performances, drum lines in crazy pockets, or guitar solos that felt like nobody could replicate, it was the perfect escape for a kid in search of his identity.

Headphones are an important tool for me as a mobile producer. Having access to quality headphones allows me to work on anything practically anywhere and make the most unconventional locations my studio.

Although headphones have created a new experience for those of us music lovers, I can’t help but to notice how many people are become consumed and entrapped in their own worlds. It begs the question, do headphones contribute to keeping us separated or cut off from people in life that we’re supposed to meet? Full sonic immersion, surround sound, noise cancelling are all incredible features but it’s easy to get so submerged into the experience that one could get to the point that we shut out the entire world around us.

The advancements made and audio and the resonance we’ve developed because of them are amazing and can truly be the soundtrack of our lives and the moments that make it up but like anything else that preoccupies your senses, just don’t let it rob you of your present moments.

Enjoy the music. Feel the sounds. But most importantly, take in the moment and allow for the music to become the soundtrack of your life.

Sometimes nostalgia can be a wonderful thing, and can be a little sad at the same time. I go back to many songs I have loved over the years, and they all invoke the remembrance of so many different memories that I completely forgot about. Some good, some bad, but those are the moments that helped shape me now. At the same time, I really enjoy making new memories with moments currently, and there are plenty of songs that help me along in that process! Some of the songs here spawned from a few different memories I had from years ago, and some of these might help create new ones!

1. Chance the Rapper & Nate Fox - Pusha Man

   • Originally released in 2013, Chance the Rapper made a major name for himself, and this song is one of my favorites from him. He managed to have a sound no one else had, and still doesn’t have to this day! If you haven’t heard this yet over the years, then you need to check this out. This song is from his 2013 mixtape/album Acid Rap.

2. YGTUT - Is You Happy

   • Released in 2023, YGTUT is someone who I really enjoy hearing from and have been a fan of since 2015. Whenever I hear this song, the production, lyrics, and flows always keep me coming back to it. YGTUT is someone who I feel deserves a lot of credit for one of the smoothest flows not only in Southern Hip-Hop, but the genre as a whole. This song is from his 2023 album I’m Back.

3. Jay Prince - Cruisin

   • Released in 2015, this was the first song I heard from Jay Prince in 2016, and I have been a fan ever since! From the first listen, I already knew this is exactly what I was looking for at that time in my life. I credit this song as one of the songs that marked a major shift in my music taste honestly. The evolution of his music has been amazing, and I say check this out if you want to hear some of his early beginnings! This song is from his 2015 album Befor Our Time.

     • Producer - Mozaic

4. redveil - Badnews

   • Released in 2020, this song was one of my favorites that year, and is one I still enjoy coming back to. This song is a great example of how Hip-Hop grows in different ways as generations progress. It has many of Hip-Hop’s core values and elements, yet sounds new! Hearing this for the first time showed me that redveil has so much potential, and I am always excited to hear from him! This song is from his 2020 album Niagara.

5. Cantrell - BOONDOCKS

   • Released in 2022, this song was in my top 10 that year, and this song still gets me hype to this day! The production is ear catching, and Cantrell has never been a slouch on the mic. I think this song is a good introduction to Cantrell if you want a song that has bars and gets you hype. If you want a dope Southern Lyricist with his own spin, then you should check this out! This song is from his 2022 album THANK YOU 4 THE TRAGEDY.

6. Recoechi & femdot. - GIANT LEAPS

   • Released in 2025, Recoechi has been on my radar all this year, and I am impressed with what I have heard. This song had me hooked at the first listen, and one that is continuing to make it to my weekly rotations! Everything I would want in music is here in one song, so this automatically gets a recommendation from me. If you haven’t heard of Recoechi, then you need to check this out! This song is from his 2025 album FLAVAZ.

7. Sam Wise - paradise

   • Released in 2024, I find myself coming back to this song when I need to relax, study, or just need to chill out after work. I have been paying attention to Sam Wise for about a year now, and I really like what I have been hearing! If you want a great artist that can give you music for multiple different moods, Sam Wise is for you!

8. Sedona - BRAID YOUR HAIR

   • Released in 2025, I have really been enjoying this song since it released, and I keep coming back to it! I first heard Sedona on Wakai’s 2024 song “EYE WITNESS”, and have had her on my radar since. Her voice had me hooked, and her production matches the vibes she puts out. This has been in my rotations since it came out, so this is a definite recommendation from me!

9. Bathe - Jetlagged

   • Released in 2021, this was the first song I heard from them, and I have loved their style of R&B ever since. This is one of those songs you can play on a relaxing drive, late night, or just to vibe and relax! The song isn’t that long, so it is one that can be repeated and you won’t get sick of it. I have had this song on repeat numerous times, and I still love hearing it! This song is from their 2021 album Bicoastal.

10. Quadry & D Sanders - Friday Night Cartoons

    • Released in 2025, this song is one reason I am a fan of Quadry and his artistry. Whenever he speaks on a song, you can visualize exactly and that is something I don’t get often from many people. When I hear this song, it brings back many memories I also had growing up, and that is what makes Quadry’s art special. Being able to invoke memories and emotions from your listeners is what makes an amazing artist! This song is from his 2025 album A Magnolia: The Complete Series.

I have been digging in some of my old bags when it comes to songs I had in rotation heavy years ago. Honestly, I might do a throwback rotation episode one day! This week though, I decided to join some of my older ones with some new songs that have been getting played on repeat for me. I never stick to one specific sound for a while, so I always end up switching things up in my daily and weekly rotations.    • Released in 2020, this was the first song I heard from the duo (Elujay & J.Robb), and I was hooked. I already enjoyed Elujay’s music, but the production from J.Robb added another level here. They truly are a great combo, and I love to hear from them whenever they release music. This is a song you’ll have on repeat and not get tired of it one bit! This song is from their 2020 album GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE.

2. Black Milk - Is It Just Me?

   • Released in 2023, this was one of my favorite songs that year, and still one I love coming back to. Everything here is perfect, from the lyrics, to the melodies, to the production. Black Milk is a legend in Hip-Hop, so there is nothing lacking here at all. If you want a song with substance and one you can vibe out to, this is for you! This song is from his 2023 album Everybody Good? (which is a MUST listen in my opinion).

3. Shay Lia - Ready

   • Released in 2025, Shay Lia has been on my radar the past couple years and has become a voice that I really enjoy hearing from. When it comes to her style, you can hear many different influences, and I think she does an amazing job at blending them. The production here is ear catching, and her voice fits on it smoothly! This song is right up my alley when it comes R&B fusions with Dance and Electronic elements.

4. Topaz Jones & Floyd Fuji - Gold

   • Released in 2021, Topaz Jones had one of my favorite projects that year, and this song is a good showcase for it. This song has many different elements wrapped in one, and it doesn’t sound overwhelming! From Hip-Hop to Funk, all of it blends naturally, and Topaz Jones always does this well. This song is from his 2021 album Don’t Go Tellin’ Your Momma (and you need to check this album out if you haven’t).

5. Stalley - Cleanse

   • Released in 2018, this song had me in a chokehold all of 2018, and when you listen to this you’ll understand why. Stalley is an artist who always had growth and reflection within his music, and this is something he’s always been consistent with. The production is simple, but is infectious with how much you want it to repeat! This song is an example of how much Hip-Hop offers when it comes to being vulnerable. This song is from his 2018 album Tell the Truth Shame the Devil, Vol. 3.

6. Benjamin Earl Turner - POP OUT

   • Released in 2021, this is one of my favorites from that year, and still put on repeat when it comes on in my playlists! Whenever this comes on, I get hype and find myself reciting every lyric multiple plays in a row. I don’t think I ever see myself getting tired of this at all. I can say, this is one of my favorite songs to vibe out to, enjoy whenever, and get me out of a bad mood! This song is from his 2021 album SELLING AIR.

7. Shno Xavier - U CHANGED

   • Released in 2025, I find myself coming back to this song a lot, and it is one I do not seem to get tired of! Shno Xavier has been on my radar for a little over a year now, I really have been loving what he has done within this time frame. One thing I respect about him is his ability to be unapologetically himself. If there is something he is interested in trying or talking about, he does it! I feel this song is a good example of that as well.

8. Moody Bank$ & Kaelin Ellis - Tattoo

   • Released in 2025, This is the first solo song I heard from Moody Bank$, and I loved what I heard here. Kaelin Ellis has always been a phenomenal producer in my opinion, and Moody Bank$’s vocals sounded perfect over the production. I have heard her featured on a few songs, but this song is my first introduction into her own music. Based on this song here, I must say I will continue to have her on my radar!

9. KYLE - ShipTrip

   • Released in 2018, this song was one of my favorites that year, and one of personal favorites from KYLE as a whole. Being a longtime fan of KYLE, this song gave me everything that I love from him. The vulnerability with melodies and great production is something that KYLE really excels in. If you love music like that, this song is for you! This song is from his 2018 album Light of Mine, and is also on the 2019 deluxe version of this album.

10. Angelo Mota, leroy, & Mez - end times

    • Released in 2024, this was the first song I heard from Angelo Mota, and I really liked what I heard here! The vibe here is mellow with substance, and I think that is a good showcase at just how Angelo Mota can switch up his styles depending on what he wants. If you want an artist who can give you songs for multiple different moods, Angelo Mota is right up your alley! This song is from his 2024 album angelo is tired.

It's that time for another entry into the “For Your Rotation” series!

I had to take a small break due to some important obligations, but I wanted to make this one special. This Rotation entry is themed after my Midyear 2025 lists. These songs here highlight Artists, Songs, EPs, and Albums that made it into my favorite Midyear collections this year!    • Released in 2024, Duckwrth remains one of my favorite artists to hear from, and this song is one I would use to show someone why. Had Enough is the perfect example of his artistic range! The production, melodies, lyrics, and vibes here is exactly what I look for in music. This gets a full recommendation from me! This song is from his 2025 album All American F⭐ckBoy and served as a single to the album.

2. Saba & No ID - Breakdown

   • Released in 2025, this album from Saba is one I have been anticipating since 2023, and it definitely lived up to my expectations! Breakdown is a straight forward mellow song, and that is why I love it so much. When I hear this, it makes me get up and feel motivated to tackle whatever I need to. You need to hear this song! This song is from their 2025 album From The Private Collection of Saba and No ID.

3. Oddisee - Tomorrow Can’t Be Borrowed

   • Released in 2025, Oddisee is one of my personal favorites, and his catalog speaks to why that is the case. I have always loved his word-smith ability to convey topics, emotions, events, and this song is a good example of this. He does the majority of his production himself, so this is another testament of his talents! Check this out if you want pure substance with great production. This song is from his 2025 EP En Route.

4. Kinrose & Oblé Reed - pesticides

   • Released in 2025, Kinrose’s style has had me hooked for a while now, and this song adds to that reason why. He knows exactly what vibes to match with whatever production he’s on, and his melodic flows fit perfectly. I really like how he blends Hip-Hop and R&B elements to suit him uniquely. If you want good music to vibe to, this is for you! This song is from his 2025 EP every garden.

5. Ash Leone - Terracotta Walls

   • Released in 2025, this song has had me hooked since my first listen this year, and I have become a fan of Ash Leone! The soulfulness here is in full effect, the production is beautiful, and the lyrics are hard hitting in the feels. I can honestly say, this is everything I would want in a soulful song, and is one I find myself coming back to often! This song is from her 2025 EP All Is Well.

6. femdot. - Kenmore & Broadway

   • Released in 2025, femdot. is an artist I always check out whenever he releases something. This song gives me exactly what I like from femdot. which is bars with good melodies and production! His mellow lyricism style is unique to him, and this allows you to visualize what he is saying in his music. If you love Chicago Hip-Hop artists, he is someone you need to check out! This song is from his 2025 EP Free Samples, Vol. 3.

7. Paris Price & Free Party - ROCKSTAR

   • Released in 2025, This song most definitely makes it into multiple rotations during my weeks! I have been hooked since it first came out, and I don’t see that changing. Paris Price is an artist that has intrigued me since he popped up on my radar this year, and this song makes me want to see what he does next. This is a great song to vibe to, workout, or whatever you might do! This song is from his 2025 album TROUBLE IN PARADISE and served as a single to it.

8. Dende - Need U Like

   • Released in 2025, This song gets stuck in my head at random times, and I never get tired of it! Everything here is perfect, and a good representation of how R&B styles can be vastly different.    • Released in 2025, Avara is an artist whose style captivated me in 2024, and I have been tuned in ever since. I absolutely love how her style is so mellow, but her vocals can hit at the same time! Her blend of different styles and genres sounds so effortless. She also does the majority of the production herself, which lends more credence to her talent! This song is from her 2025 album a softer place to land and served as a single to the album.

    • Released in 2025, 99 Neighbors has been a collective I have enjoyed since 2019, and I love checking out what the members do on their own. This song has been in rotation since release, and all 3 artists did an amazing job! The vibes here are unmatched, and this is a song I don’t see leaving my weekly rotations for a while This song is from their 2025 EP BLACK KNOT and served as a single to it.

   • Released in 2025, Ovrkast has become one of my personal favorites the last four years, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. This song gives me everything I want when it comes to bars, flows, and great production. This song is definitely making it into my top lists this year. Ovrkast. does everything himself, which lends more credit to his talent! This song is from his 2025 album While The Iron Is Hot.

2. Trent Josiah - BLOCK!

   • Released in 2023, Trent Josiah (FKA Trent the HOOLiGAN) is an artist I absolutely love hearing from wherever he releases. I became a fan four years ago from his 2019 album Medusa, and it's been history ever since. The self-reflective lyrics hit me at multiple points in this song, and this is something he does often. The production fully compliments the tone of the song as well. This song is from his 2023 album 91OCTANE!.

3. BeMyFiasco - Finally

   • Released in 2024, BeMyFiasco is an artist I have been loving since my first listen two years ago. Her voice is amazing, and she makes R&B that is right up my alley! This song is one I have had on repeat lately, and I am still not tired of it. If you love smooth R&B and Neo-Soul with a mix of some Hip-Hop elements, this is absolutely made for you! This song is from her 2024 EP Pretty Little Love.

4. Trevor Spitta - SWAGGER BACK

   • Released in 2023, this is one of those songs that gets me hyped and picks my mood up for sure. This song always gets multiple plays when it comes on, no debate about it! I have enjoyed what Trevor Spitta has released since my first listen three years ago, and this song is one that keeps popping up for me. If you want an easy going song to get your mood up, this is for you!

5. Planet Giza, Kojey Radical, & Venna - ELEVATOR

   • Released in 2023, Planet Giza has become one of my favorite groups that you NEED to listen to! This song is one of the first choices I would show someone who has never heard them, and having Kojey Radical and Venna on it makes it perfect in my eyes. This song is from their 2023 album Ready When You Are (which is an absolute must listen if you haven’t already).

6. Shae Universe - No Capacity

   • Released in 2024, Shae Universe is an artist who stands out and is completely unique. I have not heard ANYONE who sounds like her, and that’s why I am fully invested in what she does with her music. Her voice always has me hooked, and her production choices compliment it amazingly! Whenever I see her release music, It's definitely a must listen for me. This song is from her 2024 album Love’s Letter.

7. G.L.A.M. - Sleepin On Me

   • Released in 2023, G.L.A.M. has been around for years, her talent needs to be recognized. Her creativity and talent bag seem endless due to her abilities as a rapper, producer, and DJ. This song is one I find myself having on repeat numerous times, and I never get tired of it! If you want a song that will put you in a good mood, I fully recommend this to you!

8. Mark Saunders & Nyck Caution - DON’T TRIP

   • Released in 2025, Mark Saunders is an example of how many artists there are that continuously put in work, giving their all to their listeners. Many people don’t think about how artists have personal lives as well, and they create art while dealing with everything in between. Mark Saunders has been an artist I am keeping my eye on. I have really been enjoying this song a lot, and there is so much potential that I see here!

9. Jordan Ward & Lido - PRICETAG/BEVERLYWOOD

   • Released in 2023, This song gets stuck in my head at random times, and I never get annoyed with it. Jordan Ward has had that ability since my first listen six years ago, and his music continuously gets better. I love his ability to blend Hip-Hop with R&B elements, and I think that makes his style unique to him! This song is from his 2023 album FORWARD.

     • Producer - Aksel Arvid, Beat Butcha, Lido, & Nascent

10. Sainté - Dora

    • Released in 2025, Sainté has made some of the smoothest songs in my playlist, and that has been consistent for about four years now. His production picks have been unmatched when it comes to smooth vibes, and he knows how to flow over it to make the song greater! I find myself putting this song on for multiple different occasions. If you want a song you can just vibe to, this is right up your alley!

Musing: The Composition of Movement

Movement is intertwined into every part of our being, and the world that is around us. From the way the sun dances across the sky… the pattern of your breath.

Fabrics ability to hold and move with the same cadence as the wind.
Rivers.
Rhythm.
Calligraphy.
The grace of your finger tips.
The cure of smiling lips.

Movement inspires me every single day!
As a dancer, movement is my liberation. The pews to my confession. Where the seed of certainty was planted, and confidence blossomed. Movement has the ability to unlock places within you for God to walk in… it’s more than choreography. It’s more than performing.


It’s freedom.
It’s tenacity.

It stretches you beyond your limits, and continuously proves to you that there’s more within you! It’s the way jazz dances across the room as an auditory experience. The art of kissing. The way hips sway at the beckoning of the feet. There is never a moment that goes by where movement isn’t supporting you through this thing called life.

We’ve all witnessed, or experienced, the effects of stagnation. Never forget its grip, and its ability to rob you of the flexibility in your spine… or how it steals the life out of the things that bring you joy.

Remember, stillness is intentional and guided by trust.

Can I ask something of you?

Can I encourage you to lean into the awareness of it all?

How movement allows you to become ever present. It creates a newfound curiosity that sparks within you. The unification of the mind, body, and spirit. Again, movement is liberation!

Take the time to stretch and take deep breaths… I mean the type of breaths that allow expansion and reintroduces you to what your body truly feels like.

Sit with the rain.
Listen to the trees whispering sweet nothings to each other.
Learn the art of courtship from Bumblebees.
Write in cursive.
Blow bubbles.
Cook a meal from scratch. Do it from a place of gratitude and immense love.
Observe your lover in their most relaxed state.
Laugh.
Wear something that makes you feel so good you could get up and fly!
Wish the sun a good night as it sets once again.

Gaze at incense smoke as it moves through the room.


Let the art of movement inspire you!

Promise me you’ll take a moment and move however your spirit calls you too. Allow it to be the rain that defeats the drought! I know you’ll feel so much better afterwards.

Whew. Baby, it’s been some timeeee. But, we’re back!

Unfortunately, a hiatus presented itself through immense loss, grief, and humility.

Um… I told sachi I didn’t want my first post back to about my ~*sad girl*~ vibes, but I had to remind myself about how I wanted to show up in this space… So, your girl has been sad… but I’ve also created space for joy to accompany the ride. Thanks to therapy, and deep reflection, I’ve come to truly realize grief never leaves our side. It’s there through all our experiences, taking note of the beauty in it all… so it can remind us how important it is to keep joy.

I’ve kept it in my front pocket. From cloud gazing, searching for wildflowers, to long awaited first sips of coffee. There is joy in everything we do.

So with all that being said, I’d like to share a list of things that have recently brought me joy. I hope this list puts a smile on your face. I hope it inspires you to take action. I hope it encourages you to be present and seek joy in everything you do!

I have always appreciated the topics in which she breaks down when it comes to politics, societal issues, and others. Her creativity seems endless when it comes to her craft. Whenever Noname releases, it is a must listen for me. This song is from her 2023 album Sundial.

2. Will Kobus - calvin cambridge

   • Released in 2024, Will Kobus has been an artist I absolutely love hearing from! Everything I have heard from and everyone at fourth n’ oak has been great, and they are heavily on my radar. His deep hard-hitting lyrics have hit me numerous times, and this keeps me coming back to his music. I give his music the highest praise, and Will Kobus is someone you need to look for in the future. This song is from his 2024 album the marble and the sculptor (which I highly recommend you check out).

   • Released in 2022, this song was one of my top songs that year, and I still love coming back to it. Blvck Svm’s style is unique to him, and one that I have not heard from anyone. His 2020 song gristle is widely loved, and he has kept up that level of creativity ever since. This song is one that will never get old to me, and one that I highly recommend you to check out!

   • Released in 2024, this song is one I do not see myself getting tired of at all. MAVI has solidified himself as one of my favorite artists, and his music speaks for itself. Everytime I hear him, it feels like he reinvents himself with every project he releases. His bars never slack, and his production always matches what he brings. This song is from his 2024 album shadowbox (which I highly recommend).

5. Mark Saunders - Silence of the Lambs

   • Released in 2025, this song is one that caught my eye from Mark Saunders, and I felt it's a strong introduction into his art. I have been impressed with what I have heard since he’s been on my radar, so I am enjoying hearing what he releases. If you want bars with substance and great production, this song is for you! This song is from his 2025 album demoGRAPHIC II.

6. Donte Thomas - CANARY

   • Released in 2019, I had this song heavy in rotation in 2020, and is one I find myself still coming back to. This song instantly had me hooked from the production, lyrics, and the flows! Donte Thomas has been someone I enjoy hearing from whenever he releases, and I don’t see that changing. This song is from his 2019 album COLORS.

7. LOS KEMET - Steamer

   • Released in 2025, LOS KEMET is someone who has been on my radar since 2023, and I’ve been enjoying everything he’s been releasing. His style is as southern as it can get, and that is what gravitates me toward his music. The production and flows here fit perfectly together, and I find myself having this on repeat when it pops on. If you love southern hip hop, LOS KEMET is someone you need to check out!

8. JAHMED - ROADBLOCK

   • Released in 2021, this was the first song I heard from JAHMED, this was an instant hit for me. His flows from everything I heard from him are some of the cleanest I’ve heard, and his bars don’t slack either! I think his ability to find different pockets within his production is one of his greatest assets, and this song is a great example of that. This song is from his 2021 album Armani.

9. Alex Wiley, Mike Gao & Rexx Life Raj - How Many Times

   • Released in 2017, This song was in my top 5 favorites that year for good reason. I have been a fan of Alex Wiley since 2013, and listened to every single song he’s released. Alex Wiley has always had such amazing flows and attention to detail in his production, and he needs to get his credit for his contribution to the Chicago wave in the 2010’s. This song is from Alex Wiley and Mike Gao’s 2017 album Synthia Part 1: Dial Tone (which you need to check out).

10. Clear Soul Forces - Nine 5ive

    • Released in 2020, Clear Soul Forces has been one of my favorite groups that offered so much to Hip Hop. This song showcases just how much Hip Hop and Lyricism flows through their veins. When it comes to chemistry, all four members sound like vets when it comes to their bars. Even though the group is not together anymore, their discography will remain one of my favorites when it comes to groups.

It is the end of the Month, and we are already at the halfway point of the year. This year is moving by fast, a little too fast lol. One thing I always look forward to is getting to share what I have been listening to, and getting to check out what you all have been listening to as well! All of our weeks can fluctuate depending on what’s happening, so let me know what has been going on for you all!

Art can be the loudest vessel of expression, don’t let anyone take that away from you.

Here are 10 songs I have been listening to lately that I think you might enjoy!

For Your Rotation! (May 29, 2025)

1. Mick Jenkins - 007

   • Released in 2023, Mick Jenkins has continuously shown us why his pen game is unmatched. This song is a good example of his ability to blend his creativity with amazing production while still maintaining substance within his songs. Mick is one of my personal favorite artists, so this song is a definite recommendation! This song is from his 2023 album The Patience, with the deluxe version released in 2024.

2. EARTHGANG - LaLa Challenge

   • Released in 2019, this song is still one I love hearing when it comes up in my playlists. EARTHGANG is one of my favorite groups/duos, and their talent speaks for itself. LaLa Challenge is a great intro to a great album from them, and this song is one I would show anyone as an intro to EARTHGANG! This song is from their 2019 album Mirrorland.

     • Producers - J. Cole, Lido, & Olu

3. Knucks & Fimiguerrero - Nkita

   • Released in 2024, this is a song I find myself hitting repeat on a few times when it plays! I have enjoyed hearing from Knucks since 2020, and his style has evolved so much over the years. His work as a producer compliments his artistry, and that adds to his overall talent. If you want a good song with some bounce to it, this is for you!

4. Misha & Reva DeVito - Knots

   • Released in 2024, I was instantly hooked on this song when I first heard it, and it still makes its way into my rotations! Misha's production is something that captivated me in 2022, and I have been a fan ever since. Reva DeVito’s vocals here are amazing, so this song gets stuck in my head for a while after I listen to it. Definitely a solid recommendation I can give here! This song is from Misha’s 2024 album Radiant.

5. Corey G & Thurz - Recess

   • Released in 2025, this new release from producer Corey G and Thurz has been on repeat since it came out. Corey G’s production here has so many layers to it, and it all comes together in a bouncy wavy track! Thurz bars and style compliments this so much that I am fully hooked. If you want a great song to throw on at a party, or just to dance then this is for you!

6. Clairmont The Second - almost got me

   • Released in 2024, this is a track from Clairmont The Second that speaks to me in a lot of ways. The way he started the song off, it felt like he had a lot to get off his chest, and it was dope! His poignant lyrics sound like he knew exactly who he was directing his words at, and he definitely got his point across with the energy of this song. If you want bars with substance, this is for you!

7. Jakhari Smith - A Lot

   • Released in 2025, this was my first introduction to Jakhari Smith, and I really loved what I heard. I am intrigued with his versatility and ability to blend his lyrics with an addictive flow and production. This song is one I find myself coming back to, and one that I am really enjoying so far this year! This song is from his 2025 album FEEL, Pt. 2.

8. Amelia Rose - That Far

   • Released in 2023, this song recently came across my radar, and I’ve been loving it ever since! This songs production is hypnotic, wavy, and bouncy so it captures my attention instantly. Amelia Rose’s vocals match extremely well here, and gives me exactly what I want on this type of production. After listening to this song multiple times, I have to recommend it to y’all as well!

9. Danny Ali - UMADEME

   • Released in 2025, Danny Ali has been really consistent with his releases this year 2025. This song is a solid release from him, and it blends melodies with bars effortlessly. Based on what I have heard from Danny Ali, I see has a lot of potential to push his art to different heights. This is a song you should really check out if you haven’t!

     • Producers - 5ve & CalebProducedIt

10. Foggieraw & Monaleo - Prairie View

    • Released in 2025, this is another example of why Foggieraw is one of the most interesting artists creating music right now. His style is very unique, and the way he is able to craft his art needs to be studied! This song is also my first introduction to Monaleo, and I am definitely going to check out her discography too. If you enjoy Foggieraw’s music, or want an introduction, then this is for you!

It's been quite a long journey with the iPad being my main audio production/engineering home base. I enjoy the ability to bring my gear with me wherever I travel. Whether it be just for the day out and about locally or when I pack up and fly out, I like to be able to produce and workout ideas everywhere.

It started when an unfortunate event took my MacBook out of commission. This was the first generation of the aluminum body MacBooks that I was using the Digital Audio Workstation software Logic exclusively. With the screen shattered and only the ability to use it in clamshell mode hooked up to an external display, my daily portable tool was transformed into a desktop only experience. With this setback occurring a week before I was moving out of state, the devastation of not being able to produce on the Megabus ride weighed heavy on my mind.

I would now have to be immersed in the loud shenanigans around me the whole trip. Shortly after the move I enrolled into a multimedia school where we were given older iPads to use for viewing our digital textbooks. I fell in love with being able to use my hands and fingers instead of only having a keyboard and trackpad to maneuver around the interface. It felt like I was in Star Trek or in the future at that point and there was no going back.

Now to find a way to produce and record music on this thing…

I started with the early version of GarageBand since it felt like the closest thing on the iPad to Logic, but it was too limited in features at the time for me. Then I stumbled on BeatMaker 2 which allowed me to slice chops accurately with my fingers for the first time.

The only thing it lacked for me was the recording and mixing workflow I needed. I stumbled upon the app Cubase for the iPad which turned out to be close enough at the time to use with plugins for mixing final tracks. Fast forward to the present, Logic is now on iPad to fulfill all my professional recording and mixing needs. I still use BeatMaker 3 for the sampling workflow. As I continue to build a minimal set up with the smallest footprint without sacrificing the audio quality, I try not to lose sight of the reason why I started this journey. Opening up the ability to be creative anywhere and everywhere while soaking up the inspiration all around me.

These songs have been on repeat for a while now, and a lot of them are rentries into my rotation from previous years. I always like going back and revisiting songs that used to dominate my previous rotations to understand what my mindstate was at that time. A lot of songs reflect different points of my life, and revisiting them helps me to realize just how much I've changed in different amounts of time.

Sometimes it’s good to reflect on the person you used to be, and music can be a way to start that process.

For Your Rotation! (May 15, 2025)

1. Uno Hype - Pot of Gold

   • Originally Released in 2019, this was easily one of my favorite songs that year, and I still absolutely love this song! The way the song starts had me hooked instantly, and I give this multiple plays when it comes on in my playlists. To this day, I still find this song popping up in my head at random times and I have to play it. This song is from his 2021 album SOL GLO, and was released as a single in 2019.

2. Oblé Reed & femdot. - AIM-HI

   • Released in 2025, this song has been on repeat in the rotation since it was released earlier this year. Oblé Reed has been on a run with singles this year, and this song is an example of the quality he has been releasing. The production is amazing, and femdot.’s feature was perfect for it. If you want a mellow vibey track, this is for you!

     • Producers - Ethan Deetz, & Evan George

3. Latrell James - Run Forrest

   • Released in 2020, this was in my top 10 songs that year! Whenever it comes on, I hit repeat for sure. His production game is always on point, and that reflects his longevity when it comes to being a producer all these years. This song encompasses how he blends his bars with substance with great production to match. This song is from his 2020 EP Under.

     • Producer - Latrell James

4. Buddy & pineappleCITI - Get It All

   • Released in 2024, this song is one of my favorites from this album from Buddy. This was also my first intro into pineappleCITI, and I love what I heard here! The melodies here are on point, and the production had me hooked. I find myself with the hook stuck in my head for a while after listening to it. This song is from Buddy’s 2024 album Don’t Forget To Breathe.

     • Producer - DJ Khalil, & Sam Barsh

5. Kenny Mason - CHOSEN

   • Released in 2024, this is a song that keeps coming back to me at random times. Kenny Mason has been consistent for a while now, and he is something I really enjoy hearing from. His flows on this song are exactly what I love from him. His ability to find different pockets within different productions is something that gives him an advantage. This song is from his 2024 album 9.

     • Producers - Dilip, Mathauis Young, & Quickly Quickly

6. DESTIN CONRAD - SO NICE

   • Released in 2025, I have been enjoying this song a lot since the album was released this year. DESTIN CONRAD has put out solid projects and singles for a while now, and this is another entry into that run! His R&B style matches with the production he picks, and he still maintains a soulful feel on his songs. This song is a perfect example of his ability to mesh all three together. This song is from his 2025 album LOVE ON DIGITAL.

     • Producers - Louie Lastic, Blake Straus, & Dan Foster

7. Bas & The Hics - Matches

   • Released in 2016, this song was a banger from my first listen. Bas is an artist I have been enjoying since 2014, and this song gives me what I love from his music. This was my first introduction to The Hics, and I have kept up with them ever since. I love their melody, and Bas has never been a slouch on the mic either. This song is from Bas’s 2016 album Too High To Riot.

     • Producer - Ronald Gilmore

8. Kaicrewsade - Slow Dancing to Liv.e

   • Released in 2025, Kaicrewsade has been a new artist I have been really impressed by. His 2024 album Yvette was a solid release, and this song is another reason why I have been enjoying his music! This song is really smooth, and one that I find myself having on repeat when it comes on. If you want a chill song with a great atmosphere, this is for you!

     • Producers - Sam Sweeny, & Ottomp3

9. Venna & JVCK JAMES - Sun, Moon & Herbs

   • Originally Released in 2021, this song is a perfect example of why I love Venna and his production. He has been consistent when it comes to presenting his talents in his songs and for others. Anytime I hear Venna’s production, I can spot it even if he isn’t listed! JVCK JAMES’s vocals on here had me hooked as well, and I have become a fan ever since. This song is from Venna’s 2021 album VENOLOGY.

     • Producers - Venna & Marco Bernardis

10. Casper Sage & Amindi - NuDivision

    • Released in 2025, this song came across my radar, and I have been enjoying it ever since! I have heard Amindi, but this was my first introduction to Casper Sage, and I liked what I heard here. I love the vocals here from both artists, and it meshes really well together with the production. This is a great R&B recommendation if you want a fresh new song!

SIL U is about creating a platform that not only gives artists a voice but also a mirror, a proof that they’re not alone. All around the world, people just like us are unapologetically chasing their dreams and we strive to highlight that on this tour.

This tour is led by a team of visionaries and though we’re actively pursuing our own dreams, we’ve had the audacity to jump in headfirst and show others what it takes. We believe that by showing up authentically and intentionally, we’ll inspire others to do the same.

Our very own Lafayette, Sachi, and Blayne (a.k.a. LoopinIII) will be performing and representing on tour. Lafayette will be emceeing (laying down some HEAT), while Sachi and Blayne will be opening and spinning as Trill Team 6, their DJ duo.

Originally, the plan was to attend the inaugural SXSW in London to do press coverage for the platform. But when life opens up for you, you say YES. Through our network, we secured a showcase at Chip Shop in Brixton, one of the city’s most iconic hip-hop/R&B venues. They’ve hosted legends like KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Ice-T, Cormega, Mobb Deep, and many more. We’re in legendary company, and it’s truly an honor to perform in a space that’s been graced by some of the greats. Huge thanks to Jim Sharp and the team for making it happen.

After London, we’re heading to the cultural hotbed: PARIS. An international epicenter of art, music, and creativity, we’re diving in to connect with the local scene and learn how creatives out there are moving. What started as a trip to immerse ourselves in Parisian culture turned into a performance opportunity at an intimate venue surrounded by vinyls and hip-hop heads. Another unexpected blessing we’re beyond hyped for.

Next up: Iceland. BIG UP THE ISLAND TINGS (lol). (Side note and gentle reminder…we all forgot: not all islands are tropical) The Icelandic arts scene is extremely vibrant, with multiple festivals and a deeply engaged live music community. While we know very little about it, we’ve been fortunate enough to connect with people who are tapped in and ready to guide us. We’ve got two performances lined up thanks to the love from Atli, Skuli, and the whole Slacker Events crew. We’re honored and excited to build with y’all.

This trip is already one for the book AND IT HASN’T EVEN HAPPENED YET. This is a testament of what it looks like to have a little belief and a WHOLE LOT OF AUDACITY.

All you need is one—one connection, one conversation, one dream, one decision.

This is the proof of concept.

This is just the beginning.
